Competency assessment constitutes a procedure through which a student's executions and ways of acting are externalized across academic, professional, and daily settings. Within the Faculty of Engineering at a university, which adheres to this perspective, there is an urgent drive to gradually evaluate the scope of competencies acquired by its students. In this light, the project proposes establishing a software system designed for tracking students' competency achievement. This initiative involves undertaking an investigation whose core problem resides in corroborating whether the establishment of this technological device perceptibly impacts the academic performance of students in the Faculty of Engineering. Therefore, it is postulated that the implementation of such a systemic framework yields a substantive repercussion on Academic Performance. The heuristic strategy adopted, consistent with the nature of the research problem, is based on the inductive-deductive method; meanwhile, the technological design is achieved using the RUP methodology (Rational Unified Process) accompanied by the corresponding UML models. The research is classified at a descriptive-explanatory level. Descriptively, the findings reveal that the establishment of an Information System for Monitoring Competency Achievement leads to a significant influence on Academic Performance within the Faculty of Engineering. Likewise, following the analysis, design, and proposal of the software framework, its subsequent implementation and commissioning are suggested.
