Assisted dying represents a structural challenge to the legal and ethical framework of Peruvian society. The case of Ana Estrada, a healthcare professional diagnosed with degenerative and incurable polymyositis, marked a historical milestone following the filing of a writ of amparo before the Ombudsman's Office to access a dignified death. The objective of this study is to analyze "death with dignity" from a documentary perspective, contrasting the Estrada case against the response of the Peruvian State. The methodology employed consisted of a systematic literature review, strictly following PRISMA protocols to ensure transparency and replicability. For data processing, Python algorithms were developed to filter and select a final sample of 31 academic and jurisprudential sources. The results reveal a theoretical convergence regarding the existence of significant gaps in the national legal system, specifically concerning Article 112 of the Penal Code, which conflicts with the fundamental rights of autonomy and human dignity. It is concluded that the Peruvian system presents serious regulatory deficiencies and a critical lack of specialized psychological support for citizens undergoing similar processes. The Estrada ruling not only constitutes a judicial precedent for constitutional control but also demands an urgent modernization of public health policies and end-of-life care.
