Abstract
MARRERO BLANCO, Sharim and CALZOLAIO, Vita. Internal dialogue as a modulator of emotional experience: An interdisciplinary narrative review. e-Rev. Multidiscip. Saber [online]. 2025, vol.3, e-RMS01092025. Epub Sep 23, 2025. ISSN 2960-2467. https://doi.org/10.61286/e-rms.v3i.233.
This narrative review explores the complex interaction between mind, body, and emotions, highlighting the modulatory role of internal dialogue in emotional regulation and biopsychosocial homeostasis. Through the analysis of interdisciplinary literature, it is evident how emotions influence attitude, behavior, and adaptation to the environment, impacting the perception of well-being, response to stress, and the development of psychosomatic disorders. A complex interrelationship is identified between neurobiological processes, cognitive patterns, sociocultural factors, and the subjective experience of emotions that shape internal dialogue, as well as their clinical and educational implications. It is concluded that its conscious management can be key in integrative therapeutic interventions.
Keywords : internal dialogue; emotions; mental health; affective neuroscience; belief system.
