The article "Development of emotional intelligence in 4-year-old children: benefits and innovative practices" explores the importance of the development of emotional intelligence in preschool children. The objective was to promote emotional intelligence in 4-year-old children through innovative practices. As methodology, descriptive quantitative research was used. The sample was represented by 20 children from Los Pinos-Intisana preschool, who participated in practices such as: play activities, role-playing, storytelling and relaxation techniques. As a result, the improvement of social skills, emotional self-regulation and school performance was evidenced. To conclude, the emotional development of the children was achieved thanks to the support of the educators and parents, who played a crucial role through a comprehensive approach that encompassed both cognitive and emotional aspects to favor the children's integral development.
